EASY, proven and FREE strategies to gain online business visibility without ever leaving your home

You don't need to go to major conferences to be visible online and grow your brand! Here are four simple and proven ways to do it, free, without leaving home.

In this week's episode:

  • The number one rule to gaining online visibility is to be where your audience is online. If you're unsure, google "social media demographics" and look at the data for the platforms you enjoy using most.
  • Facebook has approximately 2.8 billion people, so your audience is likely on there.
  • LinkedIn is all business all the time, so if you have a business you should have a daily presence there.
  • Use one or two hashtags for each social media post (up to 30 for Instagram), including a branded hashtag and one topical one.
  • You cannot own a hashtag, but you can dominate it.
  • The easiest and fastest way to get noticed by experts or others in your industry is to be a helpful audience member in the chat of livestream broadcasts. I detail many ways to do this in the episode including greeting the host(s),...

Instagram bots and spam and not depending on just one social media platform

I've noticed a big increase in spam and bots on Instagram stories lately, particularly with polls and quizzes. This week's podcast episode details the ones I found and how to identify them in your social media, as well.

Note: If you're having trouble with Instagram (or any social media platform or Messenger) bots or spam, please reach out to me with a direct message on that social media platform or email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to help you! If you can, include a screenshot of the message you were sent.

In this week's episode:

  • There has been a noticeable increase in spam and bots on my Instagram stories lately.
  • Bots and spam are different things. Bots are robots, they are automated replies or messages that you receive on social media and are not coming from an actual person.
  • Spam is unwanted information. It can come in an email, on social media, in your mailbox at home, or anywhere.
  • I detail several accounts that have replied to my Instagram story...

Many ways to increase online visibility and grow your business on Facebook

With about 2.5 billion active daily users, Facebook is the most used social media platform available today. If you have a business, it's likely that your customers (or those buying things for them) are on Facebook. Starting off our social media series, this episode is all about Facebook and the many ways you can increase your online visibility there.

In this week's episode:

  • Everything on Facebook begins with your personal account, also known as your "profile.
  • "Friending" people strategically on Facebook allows you to be tagged and tag them in posts on Facebook, easily connect via Messenger and more.
  • Your business account on Facebook is referred to as your "page."
  • Social media platforms are being abused and utilized as dating apps--do NOT do this!
  • You can post whatever you want on Facebook as long as it doesn't violate the platform's terms of service, but I suggest that everything you post be "brand-friendly."
  • Your profile and page photos should be different.
  • You can...

Easily Increase Your Social Media Engagement

You can listen to a livestream of this content at http://bit.ly/easyengagement.

What is social media engagement? What does it mean, how in the world do you get it and how do you increase the amount you have now?

Social media engagement means that people are “talking” to you in some way on social media platforms. This can take the form of likes, comments, shares, retweets, emojis, actually hopping on someone’s livestream, etc. It’s a way for folks to acknowledge that they see/hear you, they like your message, they're reading your blog post, and they support (or don’t support depending on the comment) you. In short, it means that you’re visible to them and you are becoming top of mind!

How do you increase your engagement on social media?

If you don't have many people talking to you and thinking of YOU when they think of your industry, then you’re really not being remembered…you’re simply invisible online!

In this blog, I share...

Video Marketing Must Haves

By 2020, Video will be 80% of the content we consume on Facebook. If you're not currently incorporating video into your marketing strategies, you need to start! Here are my top three tips for quality video marketing:

Good Lighting

You don’t need an expensive lighting kit, but you do need good lighting to produce quality video. This can be natural light from a large picture window in front of you and you record your videos early in the morning when this light is at its peak. whether you use natural light or canned lighting, ideally, you want at least “three-point lighting." Three-point lighting means that one light is from overhead; a second light is on you from an upper 45-degree angle to the right, and the third source is coming from an upper 45-degree angle to the left. You need at least three points of light while you record your video, whether you're broadcasting live or producing a piece to be shown at a later time.

Good Sound

Do NOT run out and...
